NCHA & Patient Advisory Council
National Clinical Homecare Association (NCHA)
The National Clinical Homecare Association (NCHA) is a body that works with homecare providers, the NHS, and patient groups to help improve the quality and safety of homecare services across the UK. This is the kind of service that brings your treatment, medicines, or clinical support to you at home rather than in hospital. To make sure your voices are properly heard in these decisions, the NCHA set up a Patient Advisory Council (PAC), bringing together charities and patient organisations who understand first-hand what it’s like to live with a particular condition. We’re proud to be part of this council, so that the experiences of the people and families we support directly shape how homecare services are designed and delivered.
About the Patient Charter
As part of this work, the NCHA has published a Patient Charter for Homecare Providers. In plain terms, it sets out what you should be able to expect if you’re referred to a homecare service for example, by your hospital team including clear information about your care, and an outline of your rights as a patient. It’s designed to help make sure that wherever you receive homecare, you’re treated fairly and kept properly informed.
