Homecare: Community Member Perspective

Hear from three of our wonderful community members who use Homecare to help manage theirs or their child’s IMD. These films were made in partnership with Sciensus.

From flexible deliveries and scheduled nursing visits, to a simple reminder text that means one less thing to worry about, to a service that fits around a busy working life rather than the other way round — hear what really makes the difference day to day.

Jo: Homecare Experience

Amanda’s son is almost five. He needs ongoing medication, equipment and nursing support for a rare metabolic condition, alongside the school runs, swimming and everyday life every family juggles.

In this film, made with Sciensus, Amanda talks us through what it actually takes: flexible deliveries, scheduled nursing visits and a service built to fit around her family rather than the other way round.

Mhairi: Homecare Experience

Mhairi works full time and manages a rare metabolic condition alongside a demanding career, getting into the office two or three days a week when her condition allows.

In this film, made in partnership with Sciensus, Mhairi talks about what it takes to keep both on track, and why she needed a homecare service built around her life, not one she had to build her life around.
