Our Story
Metabolic Support was inspired by Jennifer Rachel Greene, born on 8 December 1978 with the rare condition Cystinosis. At the time, her family found little information or support.
Determined to change this, her parents, Peter and Lesley Greene, founded the charity in 1981 with the help of family, friends, and medical professionals—so no family would face these conditions alone. From these beginnings, the charity has grown to support people across the UK and beyond, contributing to research and the development of treatments for rare diseases.
Today, Metabolic Support continues to improve the lives of those affected by inherited metabolic disorders—ensuring Jennifer’s legacy lives on.
Leaving a Gift in Your Will
A gift in your will is more than a donation—it is a lasting act of kindness that can change lives for generations to come.
By choosing to leave a gift to Metabolic Support, you become part of a story that brings comfort, guidance, and hope to families when they need it most.
We know your loved ones will always come first. But once they are provided for, even a small gift can make a meaningful difference—helping ensure that no family feels alone in the face of a rare diagnosis.
Your legacy could help fund vital support, drive research forward, and give future families the reassurance that help is there.
It is a powerful way to make a difference that lasts far beyond a lifetime.

Every gift, no matter its size or type, helps continue this important work.
